Crazy Whim of the Day

Love in the Time of Cholera is one of my all-time favorite books. I've read the English language translation four times.

My wife has never read the Japanese copy I bought for her a few years back. So I'm gonna.

I don't really know why I'm blogging this. Maybe because it'll be harder to back out. Wish me luck.

Heh. Perhaps you also should try "my darling is a foreigner" if you haven't read it already. You will naturally read the Japanese version and your wife the English one.

Well, with me it was like both read the English one haha

Have fun man!

"El amor en los tiempos del cólera"... definitively one of the best books of Gabriel García Marquez.

Hmm... I really wonder how each translation compares to the original version. But oh well, enjoy the Japanese version friend!

Kanji learning FTW

Funny to stumble upon this. I live in Ibaraki and just the other day my girlfriend said to her mother right in front of me, "He has small ears, don't they look strange?" I wondered if this sort of appearance insult was just a cultural difference or what.
